  • Bloomin’ iPads: Teachers, are you looking for apps to use in your classroom? Based on Bloom’s Taxonomy of Objectives, this workshop explores the many educational apps available for the iPad. Free and paid apps will enable students to remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate and create.
  • The Reality is…Your Curriculum Needs to be Augmented: Are you looking to bring a “wow” factor into your curriculum? This session will help you enhance your lessons with Augmented Reality. AR is an emerging technology, which takes real-world views and enhances them with digital information in the form of imagery, animation, or video. Participants will explore the basics of augmented reality, experience sample classroom activities, and discover resources for creating augmented reality lessons.   • Say Cheese: Get ready for some lights, cameras and action and learn some digital photography tips and tricks from a digital photography expert. Bring your digital camera and learn some new photography techniques, photo editing tips and some classroom project plans that will have your whole classroom saying cheese. We will also talk about what the different icons mean and learn about different ways to utilize your digital pictures in the classroom.
  • iMovie Magic: Are you new to the Mac or not sure how to use its powerful multimedia program called iMovie? Bring your Mac to this session and we will explore how to use the features of iMovie to produce beautiful multimedia presentations. Turn your classroom or personal pictures into a dazzling slideshow complete with spectacular titles and visual transitions. Turn video clips from a camera into a polished presentation. Explore a broadcast trick called the “green screen” all in this fun and exciting session. Participants who sign up for this session need to sign up for only one morning session.
  • Smart Board Tips and Tricks: Get ready to spice up your Smart Board lessons with some great strategies for engaging learners. Learn to make custom backgrounds, animations, special effects, magic tunnels, self-checking activities and more in this quick look at some tips and tricks for the Smart Board.
  • EduCreations: Creating Easy Podcasts for the Classroom: Are you flipping, blending, chopping or cooking up some new classroom content? Need some easy ways to create podcasts? This session is for teachers who want to learn several engaging ways to create and post podcasts for students to view before and after class. Participants will be using several free apps, websites and software to turn your computer or iPad into an interactive drawing board that will capture voice and handwriting. The Following Sessions will be offered in the afternoon
  • From Good to Great with Garage Band: GarageBand comes on every Mac but few utilize its potential. No surprise why--it looks intimidating on the surface. However, this powerful program is actually not as mysterious as it would appear. Bring your Mac to this session and we will explore the audio editing features and sound effects that can be generated with GarageBand. Sound files edited or produced with GarageBand can be incorporated into websites, podcasts, and multimedia projects such as iMovie, PowerPoint, Keynote and more. Participants who sign up for this session need to sign up for only one afternoon session.
  • Smart Games: This session is for those participants who would like to know more about making Smart Notebook games. Participants will be given numerous Smart Board templates and will be exploring several web based gaming venues for use with the Smart Board.
  • EdCanvas: Creating Online Collections and Assignments: Are you a teacher looking for a cool and different way to teach your students? The new website called EdCanvas could be just the ticket. With this site, you can create customized webpages that offer a new and exciting way to teach students. You can implement all kinds of elements into your webpage to build a cool way for your students to learn new information. Teachers just create an Edcanvas and add text, pictures, web links, videos, music and more in this very teacher friendly environment. Never have to worry about updating your teacher webpage again.   • Lights, Camera, Action! Let's talk video... In this workshop we will discuss where to find videos online, how to download them, and then how to edit them with MovieMaker. It's easier than you think!
  • Going QRazy with QR Codes in the Classroom: QR Codes are popping up everywhere, and their quick response potential extends beyond the commercial world into the classroom. This workshop will explore the many ways that QR codes can be used to engage today’s students. Participants will learn how to create their own QR codes and how to create classroom QR code activities. Participants are encouraged to bring their own device (smart phone, iPad, etc.) to this workshop.
  • Google Docs: Survey and Share with Ease: Gathering information has just been made simple! With Google Docs you can… organize documents online and stop taking your flash drives home, share files with co-workers, survey parents and collect data easily and promote peer editing. Participants who sign up for this session need to sign up for only one afternoon session. Participants should establish Google accounts before this session.
